About Terry L. Norton

Dr. Norton is Professor Emeritus of Education at Winthrop University in Rock Hill where he taught graduate and undergraduate courses in literacy acquisition and in children’s and adolescent literature. In addition to his previous book, Cherokee Myths and Legends (McFarland, 2014), he has published guides on the teaching of reading and writing, articles in scholarly journals, and poetry, including translations of the Latin poet Phaedrus. He has also established the Terry L. Norton scholarship at Winthrop for undergraduate students majoring in elementary or middle-level or secondary English, with preference given to first-generation college students.
